Wonder Woman 1984 Character Cars!

Whew, whoa, ok, so glad to finally be getting to these somewhat new-ish releases!

WW84 Character Cars

It’s not secret that COVID did a number on theatrical release schedules, so we might ought to consider ourselves lucky that this stuff was even made. The upcoming WW84 (or Wonder Woman 1984, not sure which title is official) is represented by 3 brand new (almost) Character Cars.

Wonder Woman

The first is just Wonder Woman, but she’s distinguished by appearing with both metalflake paint and the discernible blue of the trunk and rear wheels. I know it doesn’t seem like a “First Appearance” but it is; I’ve long questioned why we we haven’t been given a solid red & blue Wonder Woman car.

Golden Armor

The next one is labeled as WW84 Golden Armor and it looks great. I haven’t seen WW84, but I have seen the Golden Armor MacFarlane action figure everywhere, and it’s basically Wonder Woman all decked out in this golden suit with big shiny and – still golden – angel-like wings. Honestly I can’t decide if it looks hokey or if it’s wildly inspirational.

As for the car, well, it’s a perfect yellow-gold with just the right amount of luster. It retains the basic shape of the Wonder Woman car except that now the massive wings are folded and atop the back half. Every bit of this car is gold – the rims, the chassis, and the windows, and even the interior!

Cheetah Character Car

Last is, presumably, the film’s antagonist, The Cheetah. She’s colored very strangely, like a pale bronze color. There’s also a tail at the exhaust. I don’t think the body is meant to emulate any make or model specifically but it does have that sleek, early 90’s look to it. The red windshield is also a nice touch.

And it looks like that’s all we can expect from Hot Wheels and DC for the time being. Personally I wish they’d use the opportunity to come up with designs for the likes of Luthor, Scarecrow, Ras’s al Ghul, and so on.
