Breaking News 1 of 2 – New MARVEL Character Cars!

Originally posted on February 5th, 2017.

After a relatively quiet week following all the DC releases, some quick searching late yesterday afternoon turned over some very interesting stuff!  Just to keep it nice and tidy, I’m breaking this up into 2 quick parts.

First, like the title says, we’re back to the Marvel camp after some very scant releases over the last few months.  This time around Hot Wheels is honoring the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (with special packaging no less), and so far, an unchanged re-release of Star-Lord, a new Rocket Raccoon (this one has blue pants instead of orange ones), a sort of “Baby Groot” character car known as Groot Go-Kart (watch a trailer if you haven’t already to see how cute Baby Groot is), and last but not least, the 100% brand new Yondu!  Gamora and Drax are shown on the backs but so far no word on whether they will be re-released or not, or whether or not they will somehow be different than the originals.  Check ‘em out!

In the same batch of cars there’s also one labeled Iron Man Mark XLVI (I think that’s “46″).  Turns out that this is just a re-issue of “Civil War Iron Man” or “Iron Man #26″ (from back when they had numbers).  I guess it’s cool that they’ve officially distinguished this version of Iron Man from the more common “rocket car” version, but what I reeeeally want is for Hot Wheels to focus more on some damn villains!

Previously bearing the informal designation of “Civil War version” or “number 26,” it’s now officially “Mark 46.”

Now be sure to stick around for a quick Part 2!
